Say What Now of the Day: In today’s edition of Santorum Santorum Says: Rape victims who get pregnant “have to make the best out of a bad situation.”
(Also: “I believe and I think the right approach is to accept this horribly created — in the sense of rape — but nevertheless a gift in a very broken way, the gift of human life, and accept what God has given to you.”)
So he is saying if one of his daughters was raped and got pregnant he would just tell them it was a gift from God and they have to keep it.
He claims having the abortion would ruin their life. Wouldn’t forcing her to have the baby and he looking at the baby for the rest of her life and being reminded of the rape wouldn’t ruin her life?
I am not a big supporter of abortions, but I don’t believe, especially in the cases of rape and incest, that the mother should be forced to keep the baby.
