I saw this in a little crappy store by Old Orchard beach and I loved it. It makes it almost sound like Jesus dies because the person asked if Jesus loved him.

This is a very interesting and thought provoking video. Apparently it is part 1 of 8, I’ve only watched this one so far though. You can tell both Christoper Hitchens & Tony Blair respect each other. I found it very interesting that 75% of the audience said that they were open to hanging their opinion on the matter based on the debate. How often can you find so a large group of people who would be willing to change.

On a side note, when was Christopher Hitchens diagnosed with cancer? He was on Real Time with Bill Maher a couple months ago and I don’t remember there being an mention of cancer and he looked fine. He lookes like he’s aged at least 10 years in the video.

This Is Informative, You Should Watch It of the Day: Renowned author, journalist, and anti-theist Christopher Hitchens (con) debates former UK premier Tony Blair (pro) on the resolution religion is a force for good in the world” as part of the Aurea Foundation’s ongoing Munk Debates initiative.

Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8.

tl;dw: Hitchens won.

MusicChoice admits Jesus wasn’t born in December

My mom has been leaving the TV in the dining room on channel 533 lately which is the MusicChoice channel that plays Christmas songs all day. Christmas trivia facts appear on the scree as the music plays. A minute ago the trivia fact was, “December 25 was chosen as the date to celebrate Christmas to coincide with other winter festivals.” So even they admit Jesus wasn’t born on Dec. 25. If I see it again I’ll try to get a picture and post it.

War on Christmas?  Well that isn’t very Christian of you.

Happy Holidays everybody!

The Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.

Article 11, Treaty of Tripoli, unanimously approved by the US Senate and signed by President John Adams on June 7,1797.

…but don’t let the facts get in the way.

What?  Facts?  What are those?

It’s very important to think before you speak because when you use the word ‘literally’in a sentence, sometimes the sentence ends up meaning something completely different. [To see more of examples go to theoatmeal.com/comics/literally]
However, in this case I’d be willing to bet Falwell literally believed there would be a big gay steamroller who would run over and kill all the good heterosexual Christian people.  Falwell was just the crazy.

Is it a surprise that believers only quote selectively from their own “holy” books?

"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered,  he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives."
 —Deuteronomy 22:29

Apparently there was a football game today and the Pats smashed the Broncos 45-10. Since he was beaten so badly does that mean God isn’t on Tebow’s side anymore? I’m not really a sports fan, but I much prefer when a team wins the quarterback attributes the win to their hard work and teamwork instead of saying they won because God was on their side. Does that mean God cares about the other team less? God has nothing to do with football.
