Literally, if we took away the minimum wage—if conceivably it was gone—we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level.
The fact that this woman was voted into a Senate seat says many things about the degradation of this country. Minimum wage in the US is pathetic. Even $10 an hour would be too low. (via sirmitchell)
The fact that people actually voted her into the Senate says a lot about some of the people in this country and their lack of intelligence. Of course the way to fix unemployment is do away with the minimum wage so companies can pay whatever they what. That way all the unemployed people will basically be in the same position they are now, they will have a job, but they will still have trouble putting a roof over their heads and food on the table. How does that fix anything? That just makes the companies richer by having the employees do the same amount of work, but paying them much less for it.
